It’s been a busy opening to 2017 at Nexus, with residents at our Edinburgh offices continuing to create, innovate and generally be awesome. We’ve just started getting to know our new community in Glasgow and begin the renovations there, so these are exciting times!
But everyone needs a break and what could be more fun than a day out in Edinburgh taking in some science. In particular the Edinburgh Science Festival starting on April 1st.
One of the joys of being based in the heart of Edinburgh are the great festivals and shows. So whether you’re one of our Glasgow residents or a Virtual Office client, get the train into Edinburgh, grab a coffee in our break out area and then go take in a show.
There is so much to choose from that it’s hard to know where to start. But the best place is with the free Edinburgh Science Festival brochure. The festival features almost 300 events in various venues, including; the City Art Centre, National Museum of Scotland, Summerhall, Royal Botanic Garden, The Edinburgh Zoo and Dynamic Earth to name but a few.
There will be debates, interactive events, drop-in activities and loads of stuff to discover (lots of it being family friendly too). Topics will cover anything (Science and technology is huge after all), from what we eat to neuroscience, molecular biology and robotics. For more information about events and to book tickets visit http://www.sciencefestival.co.uk/festival - advance booking is recommended. Whether you’re a science and technology business or something more conventional, keeping up team moral by spending time together outside the office is always a great move, after all creative minds need a break. The Nexus team will be at some shows, so with any luck we’ll see you there!
