Our brand new buzzing modern work space is open

July 8, 2016

We’ve transformed a 200-year old building into an inspiring, creative workspace and already businesses are loving it. Here’s why...

As the Nexus Business Space community continues to grow we have now opened the doors to our brand new building at 22 Young Street in Edinburgh city centre - our third premises.

For this latest project, we’ve transformed a building from the 1780s into a fun, creative, colourful modern work environment with 40 work stations. We’ve also installed super fast fibre optic broadband with lots of bandwidth.

Many of our diverse range of new residents - from tech to travel, recruitment and copywriting - have already moved in.

Location

Among them is Lucy Vauclair, Creative Director for web copywriting agency Essential Language Solutions. With top digital, fashion and luxury brands as clients, they were attracted by the prestigious Edinburgh location and creative designer feel.

A Space to Create

Already settled in and loving the new space, Lucy is already finding the benefits don’t just stop with location & aesthetics.

“Part of our work is quite hectic, taking calls, brainstorming ideas, discussing projects etc., while another part is much more quiet and reflective, getting our heads down and writing great copy,” she explains.

“It was important that we found a space that could accommodate both these aspects of how we work and create, and Nexus really delivers on this.

Dynamic Environment

“We value the flexibility that Nexus offers us, allowing us to scale in time without having to relocate continuously. Perhaps above all, we feel that working in a young and dynamic, open environment will help us forge the connections and relationships that are crucial for any business to grow in today’s interconnected world.”

Feeling at home

Tom Beddard from Hyper Digital was attracted to the new building before he even saw it completed. Now moved in, he hasn’t been disappointed.

“It was the bright, vibrant interior design that attracted us to the Nexus offices,” Tom says.

“I first viewed the new space when it was still a building site but I knew that it was perfect for us.

The character and personality applied to Nexus’ other buildings has been continued through to no. 22 and it has turned out just as I had hoped. It’s not even at the end of our first week but we feel very much at home already!

“The specific location isn’t a crucial factor for our business as we do everything online, however it is very important for our team being in a quiet location but also only a few minutes walk from the buzz of city centre life.”
